The reason for this fly is a variant is because I have changed up some of the materials from Mike Verduin whose pattern of the Catalpa Worm is what I was trying to replicate.
The Catalpa Worm is a distinctive fly pattern used in fly fishing, particularly effective during the summer months. It mimics the appearance of greenish worms that fall from catalpa trees, enticing various freshwater predators. The pattern is made from soft, buoyant materials that create a gentle, undulating movement in the water, making it particularly alluring to fish. It is commonly used in both fly and bait fishing strategies, making it a staple in many fly boxes.
