The measuring set-up consists of a Coriolis Promass s 300, a laptop with which the Promass can be controlled and a multimeter connected to the measuring signal output. This multimeter displays the measurement signal in the unit milliampere, which the Promass would pass on to the process control system.
In our experimental set-up, a signal of e.g. 14mA is given to the Promass S via the laptop and the Promass passes this signal on to the multimeter. This is done with the Promass S in full operation regardless of whether water is flowing through or not. This means that with the simulation of any measuring signal, it can be checked whether a measuring signal of a certain magnitude is coming to the process control system.
Subsequently, a fault message can also be simulated. In our experiment, the default fault message is that the temperature sensor is defective.
