PASSAGE: John 9:10-19 (ESV)
10 “How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.
11 He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”
12 “Where is this man?” they asked him.
“I don’t know,” he said.
The Pharisees Investigate the Healing
13 They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. 14 Now the day on which Jesus had made the mud and opened the man’s eyes was a Sabbath. 15 Therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. “He put mud on my eyes,” the man replied, “and I washed, and now I see.”
16 Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.”
But others asked, “How can a sinner perform such signs?” So they were divided.
17 Then they turned again to the blind man, “What have you to say about him? It was your eyes he opened.”
The man replied, “He is a prophet.”
18 They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents. 19 “Is this your son?” they asked. “Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?”

GENRE: 1980s Hair Metal / Glam Rock / Christian Rock
Verse 1
They gathered 'round, demanded answers from me
"How did a blind man learn to see?"
I told them straight, no mystery to hide
A stranger touched my darkness with the light inside
He mixed the earth, anointed both my eyes
Said "Go to Siloam, don't you compromise"
I washed away the clay, the scales, the night
And came up from the water bathed in sight
Pre-Chorus
They asked me where He'd gone, I didn't know His name
But everything had changed—I'd never be the same
Chorus
Mud and light, breaking through my endless night
Mud and light, turning wrong into right
They can question, they can doubt, they can fight
But I was blind—now I see the light!
Verse 2
Dragged before the Pharisees that day
They interrogated every word I'd say
"This happened on the Sabbath," some accused
"He breaks the Law—this power can't be used!"
But others wondered, shaken by the sign
"How could a sinner work a power so divine?"
Division in their ranks, they turned to me
"What do you say?" I answered honestly
Bridge
"He is a prophet sent from God above!"
But hardened hearts won't recognize His love
They called my parents in to testify
Still couldn't accept what stood before their eyes
(Before their eyes!)
Chorus
Mud and light, breaking through my endless night
Mud and light, turning wrong into right
They can question, they can doubt, they can fight
But I was blind—now I see the light!
Outro
Born in darkness, raised in shame
Then a man called Jesus spoke my name
They can deny it, but they can't erase
The miracle of sovereign grace!
