On the Urban Debate, with Tanvi Shukla, we discuss about the ongoing power crisis India is going through. India is experiencing a power shortage, with over 100 power plants around the country experiencing disruptions. Coal was depleted in 17 of the country's 100 power plants. There are power outages in several parts of northern India. The Delhi government claims that its thermal power plants are operating at 50% capacity and that it has only two days' worth of coal on hand. The Union Coal Minister has said that the Coal production has been increased, however, people residing in the major metro cities need not worry about the issue as the situation in such cities is currently under control.
