A look at the new HP Envy x2 convertible tablet and laptop...with an Intel Atom Clovertrail chip can it actually run anything more powerful than Office? Turns out it can, and better than most critics will have you believe - I'm using it as a snazzy tablet for music composition and Photoshop design work. Granted, it ain't going to run Crysis, and yes - the GMA graphics core is underpowered. That, however, isn't really the point; the battery lasts impressively long (iPad style) and you can run any Windows apps you want. Intel have really upped the battle here, and the quad core BayTrail Atom is going to be very interesting indeed.
HP deserve kudos for crafting a beautiful and well made device, with a solid docking station.
The only downside is that Internet Explorer 10 crashes when using GPU acceleration, so that needs attention; but that's not HP's fault.
