Day 3 of the Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg witnessed thrilling performances across multiple events with large participation from athletes nationwide. In snowboarding, Zubair Ahmad Lone from Jammu and Kashmir clinched the gold medal, while Army athletes Vivek Rana and Kulvinder Sharma secured silver and bronze. In the 15-km men’s Nordic skiing event, Mohammad Ali from the Army won gold, Padma secured silver, and Sunny Singh claimed bronze. In the women’s snowboard giant slalom, Preeti Thakur from Himachal Pradesh won gold, while another athlete from Himachal and Urmila from Maharashtra secured silver and bronze. In the women’s 1.5-km Nordic skiing event, Bhawani from Karnataka bagged gold, while CRPF and ITBP athletes took silver and bronze. Sports Minister Satish Sharma visited Kangdoori to review arrangements, inspecting medical and food facilities. He expressed satisfaction with the management and emphasized that such events provide a strong grassroots platform for athletes to develop and showcase their talent.
