Olivia Wirth has been appointed and named by Myer as Executive Chairwoman and managing director.
Ms Wirth was previously the CEO of Qantas Loyalty.
“The important thing is that word ‘executive’, she’s not the chair of the board just, she’s the Chief Executive, as a result, she now runs Myer, Mr Greenwood told Sky News Australia.
“The one thing Myer is doing and John King the Chief Executive today was talking about this, basically saying this business is all about the loyalty program, it’s all about new warehousing, it’s all about online growth, it’s not just the physical stores, it’s what she brings into that whole space that she’s grown at Qantas in a big way.
“She takes complete control of our biggest department store.”
