This scenic gravel ride begins at the atmospheric ruins of Ruthven Barracks, just outside Kingussie. From there, you’ll enjoy a pleasant cycle to Tromie Bridge, where you can admire the Falls of Tromie before heading up into the impressive and remote Glen Tromie. The River Tromie runs through the glen, adding to its scenic beauty. After cycling along Loch an t-Seilich the route continues to the ford just beyond Gaick Lodge.

On this cold day, I opted for a rewarding out-and-back route. But for those looking to extend the adventure, you can easily connect this ride with my Glen Feshie Gravel Ride or the Glen Tromie – Glen Feshie Loop, a favourite among local riders. It’s also the gentler section of the iconic Gaick Pass, which links Tromie Bridge to Blair Atholl.
