Octopuses are wicked smart! An octopus has a central brain, and each arm has a cluster of neurons, meaning an octopus essentially has nine brains! Plus, each sucker-covered arm can independently move, feel, taste, and relay information.
Percy gets seafood-filled puzzles to encourage his natural problem-solving and foraging behaviors. Aquarist Abby B. stuffed this puzzle box with shrimp and squid, and Percy was quick to investigate. It took him about 8 minutes to get each piece—but we hit the fast forward button to make this video more bite-sized.
