In this video, I discuss the common side effects associated with five popular antidepressants, including Zoloft, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Prozac, and Cymbalta. Four of these medications are SSRIs, while Wellbutrin is a different type of antidepressant with its own unique set of side effects.
I explain that nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, dry mouth, and somnolence are the five common side effects of SSRIs. Wellbutrin, on the other hand, may cause agitation, constipation, headache, migraine, and weight loss.
As Zoloft is the most commonly prescribed antidepressant in the US, I provide detailed information about the chances of experiencing side effects when taking this medication. According to the manufacturer's package insert, there is a high likelihood of experiencing nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, dry mouth, and fatigue or dizziness with Zoloft.
Overall, I note that there is a high probability of experiencing at least one of these side effects when taking antidepressant medication, and suggest that viewers consult their doctor before starting any new medication.
