The presentation introduces a new developed, pilot-scale method to manufacture microfibrillated cellulose film. The method has been developed in co-operation between VTT Technical Research Centre, UPM and Aalto University. Several metres of microfibrillated cellulose film have been manufactured with VTT's pilot-scale coating device Sutco in Espoo. All phases in the method can be transferred to industrial production processes. The films can be manufactured using devices already available in the industry.
The VTT FiberValue webinar was arranged in April 2012. Webinar covered R&D topics throughout the value chains of printed media and packaging.
