The community had a primary school, a church, and more. The residential buildings were made up of 45 four-story tenement buildings with 430 flats. Most of these flats were small - really small. There were 69 bedsits, 310 one-bedroom flats, and only 51 two-bedroom flats (being a dock worker didn't always afford a luxurious lifestyle).
At the time, the estate had one of the highest densities in the area. Today it has the highest rate of below-tolerable-standing housing in the Inverclyde area.
Over time, the shipbuilding industry of Glasgow waned, and with it went the shipyard jobs. The decline in shipbuilding began in the 1920s after World War One. Without shipyard jobs, many of the workers moved away abandoning their small crowded abodes at Clune Park. Today it is little more than a ghost town with an occupancy rate of only around 10%. Some of the buildings are now completely unoccupied.
