Ruby Slippers is a special alumni chamber orchestra created by conductor David Hattner. For this performance, alumni of the Portland Youth Philharmonic came together to bring Copland’s original instrumentation of Appalachian Spring to life in an intimate setting. The sound captures the clarity, space, and quiet energy that made this score so iconic.
