The 1983 U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships was played on outdoor clay courts in Indianapolis, Indiana. The tournament was held from August 1 through August 7, 1983. In the championship match Jimmy Arias defeated Andres Gomez 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. For 18-year-old Arias this was his third title of 1983 and the fourth of his career.
