Tower of Dreams, an intimate and heart - warming documentary about six people and their relationship to The Tower Ballroom, Birmingham, UK. A love story dedicated to a historic venue that is now considered defunct, but has hosted numerous events and created an abundance of memories. Audiences attended live performances by legendary artists including New Order, The Drifters, John Holt, Happy Mondays, The Dammed, Burning Spear, The Three Degrees, Black Uhuru, The Wailers, Dexys Midnight Runners, The Who and David Bowie.

Production commenced in 2021 and with extensive research, a number of key individuals were identified whose stories have never been told - interwoven with rare archive material and an emotive soundtrack, Tower of Dreams charts the relationship of the people and their intimate recollections of The Tower Ballroom.

Tower of Dreams is emotionally driven and pays homage to a vital component of Birmingham's history, now lost! Opened to the public in 1876, The Tower Ballroom provided a haven that celebrated cultures irrespective of race, creed or colour. Throughout the decades, music, dance, cuisine, sport and romance were played out in the most exuberant manner. At heart of it, Tower of Dreams is the love letter written by Maverney Kettle, Simon Mills, Kate Cook, Colonel Red, Darryl Georgiou and Bernie Dixon - it should have been posted a long time ago!
