Coronation Street favourite Sally Ann Matthews is stepping confidently into a bold new chapter, landing her first major role since waving goodbye to Weatherfield last year. After decades tied to one of Britain’s most iconic soaps, the actress is proving that life after the cobbles is already off to a flying start.

Matthews, best known for her long-running portrayal of Jenny Connor, exited the ITV soap in October when her character chose to leave the Rovers Return behind in search of a fresh beginning. The departure marked the end of an era for fans but also the start of an exciting new phase for the actress herself.

Now, she’s been unveiled as part of the cast of the official Steps jukebox musical Here & Now, a high-energy production packed with nostalgia, heartbreak and reinvention. The announcement has sparked delight among fans eager to see Matthews shine on stage.

Sally Ann will take on the role of Patricia, joining the touring production from 23 January as it travels across the UK and Ireland. She steps into the part following Finty Williams, bringing her own flair and experience to the much-loved show.
