FMS P-39 Airacobra 980mm High-Speed "Hells Bells" - Lemon Rx Maiden Flight

Описание: This is the maiden flight of my FMS P-39 Airacobra 980mm High-Speed "Hells Bells" using the Lemon Rx DSMX 7-Channel Diversity Receiver / Stabilizer (click the "Show More" tab for details).

I picked up this FMS model at my local hobby store after my buddy that works there made me an offer "that I couldn't refuse."  The Airacobra is a type of plane that didn't jump out at me as a "must have" model, but it certainly grew on me over time. Completion of the build took a few evenings (due to my work schedule), but was very straightforward. 

I decided to perform the maiden flight on this fairly cold but calm wind Saturday.  Unbeknownst to me, my maiden flight of this FMS High-Speed Edition was being recorded on the sidelines by my flying buddy, Mike "Deuces Wild" Frontiero.  During the flight, a group of soccer players were also congregating to the adjacent field, but stopped to watch the flight as well.

This FMS model is a rocket! A very smooth and predictable warbird with a locked-in feel, even more so with the Lemon Rx DSMX 7-Channel Diversity Receiver / Stabilizer. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this plane.. as it has very well-mannered flight characteristics, coupled with amazing speed, as well as being easy on landing approaches (for a warbird). I'm completely blown away - an amazing flying machine and an awesome lander.. I truly feel lucky to have chanced on this model.
