Wynter Smith, the missing Michigan toddler, has been found dead in Detroit. A body believed to be kidnapped 2-year-old was found on the city's east side, according to police and FBI investigators.
"At approximately 6:50 p.m. this evening, the body of Wynter Cole Smith was recovered by FBI agents, this is not the outcome that we were hoping for," FBI Acting Special Agent Devin Kowalski said.
The suspect, Rashad Trice, was arraigned on several charges including criminal sexual conduct, home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, and domestic violence. Investigators said Trice is the toddler's mother's ex-boyfriend. Authorities said Trice took the toddler after stabbing the mother.
