Meet Hafsah Altaf, our Women Empowerment Scholarship Grant Recipient as she Shares her Story!

Описание: We are proud to introduce Hafsah Altaf, our Scholarship Grant recipient, currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Calgary.

Hafsah is deeply curious about how science intersects with everyday life — from medicine and research to the ways sound, data, and neuroscience shape human experience. Drawn to questions without easy answers, she thrives at the intersection of science and humanity, approaching her studies with thoughtfulness, discipline, and purpose.

Her accomplishments speak volumes. Hafsah has conducted advanced biomedical research through Alberta Innovates at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, led award-winning youth research with Youreka Canada, co-founded a STEM innovation club, and earned multiple academic and community leadership awards. Beyond the lab, she has demonstrated exceptional service through civic engagement, STEM outreach, and adaptive sports as an assistant coach for blind hockey.

Equally important is how Hafsah finds balance — through poetry, books, hockey, hiking, and meaningful time with family. These moments ground her, reminding us that true success is built on both intellectual growth and human connection.
