Описание: "Unclouded Day" has been one of the most challenging and fun songs to record! The joy-filled, hopeful tune gives us a glimpse of the greatness of the Kingdom of Heaven each time we sing it, and we hope it does the same for each of you! We are very excited to release this week's video because it will give you a glimpse into the recording process that each choir member does on a weekly basis to produce the videos you have been receiving throughout the semester! Recording these videos has been such a blessing because it has allowed us to continue our ministry, even in the midst of dramatic changes and abundant safety precautions due to the COVID pandemic. The Folk Choir's ministry is to spread God's love through song and welcome all the "folk" of the Church into praising with us. Although we have not been able to sing at weekly masses in the Basilica, we believe that these videos have enabled us to continue our ministry and share our work with an even wider audience. We hope to continue this ministry next semester, and would greatly appreciate donations that will help to support our work. "The entire Law hangs on the two commandments talked about in this Sunday’s Gospel. Step one, love God. Step two, love neighbor. Seems easy enough. But how many times have I failed to live up to either of these commandments? Why is it so hard for me to fulfill these two simple things God asks of me, things I desperately want to do? No matter how hard I try, I have fallen short again and again. This passage always reminds me of a little saying my aunt would share with my siblings and I when we were young. You must live a life of JOY: J-Jesus, O-Others, Y-Yourself, in that order. Once your life is ordered in that manner can your life abound with the joy and love promised by Christ in the Gospel. I hope to live a joyful life, especially the one we sing of in “Unclouded Day.” The song attempts to describe how wonderful the Kingdom of Heaven truly is, but the singer is only “told of” the unclouded day. But one day, we won’t just be told of the city that is made of gold, we will get to experience it in all its glory. A place where life is ordered around loving God and loving one another. But we don’t have to wait to experience that all-encompassing love; we can bring it here to our relationships, our choir, and our homes. We will never be perfect 100% of the time. But if we try our hardest to love God and neighbor as God loves us, the unclouded day can encompass each of us right here and now."
