"Sex & Capitalism" Ryan Duffin original song (in stereo)

I wrote a new song. It's about prostitution and is NOT based on a true story. My relationship is fine! We are happy, monogamous and cash-transaction free.

This song is based off an comment that was made, that had me considering our whole societal view of sex work, intimacy, puritan morality and capitalism.

Is it more dignified to work at Hot Dog on a Stick for $10/hr or be a high-class escort making six figures? Is that escort less morale than a cigarette executive? Would you rather your partner sleep with people for money or work for a company that poisons groundwater for profit, kills people for money or is the legal defense for Harvey Weinstein?

I don't have answers but it was interesting to think hard on what our societal beef with sex work is, vs all the other "undignified" or "immoral" things people do to make money, that we accept because our faith in capitalism is only exceeded by our need for monogamy, despite our frequent disregard for it. And yet, despite how illogical it all is, how unwavering we can be in the values we learned.

That's how this song came to be. Though if I got dumped by my girlfriend so she could be a prostitute, that'd be quite a story too.
