It is the Garden of the Beyond, where the realms of the living and the dead intertwine. Amidst the heavy scent of withering flora, the one waiting for her was the man with whom she had once exchanged vows of love—"he," who had now become nothing but white bone.

"At last, we are together again."

She gently pressed her skin, white as silk, against his cold bones. He no longer possessed warm arms to embrace her in return, nor lips to whisper words of affection. Yet, she—and she alone—could perceive the unwavering will residing within the depths of his hollow gaze.

Though flesh may decay and the laws of the mortal realm seek to tear them asunder, the knot binding their souls shall never be undone.

She closes her eyes, surrendering herself to the eternal silence. For within the arms of her skeletal lover lies her one and only sanctuary.
