Deep Snow Winter Camping | Surviving the Second Night Alone.
A silent winter survival camp deep in heavy snow, building shelter, keeping fire alive, and enduring the long frozen night alone.
My forest camping journey started on a cold, foggy, rainy morning deep in the woods.
The sound of frozen rain hitting the leaves mixed with thick fog and dry winter cold, covering the forest in silence.
Along the way, I collected fresh water from a natural spring for the camp ahead. After hours of walking, I chose a spot in a foggy valley, under an old tree, and built my first tarp shelter. I lit a campfire and started gathering firewood, knowing winter nights in the forest are long and unforgiving.
Rain continued through the evening, sometimes gentle, sometimes heavy, as the temperature slowly dropped.
At the beginning of the night, rain turned into snowfall.
Cooking dinner by the fire while snow quietly fell through the forest was a moment of pure solitude.
Around midnight, I had to leave the shelter again to find more firewood. Using an axe, I cut frozen wood and brought it back to keep the fire alive.
That night, I slept without a sleeping bag, relying only on the fire and shelter. By morning, everything was covered in snow.
Day two began under heavy snowfall. I packed up the camp and continued walking through the snow.
Around 10 a.m., the snow stopped, clouds broke apart, and sunlight dropped snow from the trees back onto the ground.
By 2 p.m., I reached a new location suitable for the second night of winter camping. I cleared the snow, built another tarp shelter beside a large maple tree, and quickly prepared firewood. Some logs I broke with my foot, others with the axe.
The sky cleared completely, but the temperature fell below freezing.
As night came, everything froze.
I spent the second night alone, sitting by the fire under a clear winter sky, reaching the morning of day three, wondering what conditions the next camp would bring.
