Driver, Guard and Lineside Views (Austrian Steam) - Zwettl to Schwarzenau with Locomotive No.92.2271

Описание: Hi, in this video we take a ride behind a delightful 0-8-0 take engine No.92.2271 built by Krauss & Co Linz in 1919. Between 2000 and 2009 the locomotive was overhauled by the Zwettl Museum Railway Club for use on special trains and charters. Our journey starts at Zwettl, a regional centre located at the heart of the Waldviertel in Lower Austria, close the Czech border. High above the town of Zwettl is an impressive steel viaduct mounted on stone pillars, some of our group headed into the town to capture our train making several photographic runs across the viaduct, whilst others stayed on board to admire the stunning views over the valley far below. The train returned to Zwettl where we watch our locomotive run round ready to head along the freight only line to Schwarzenau, regular passenger trains having ceased at the beginning of the century. We travel through pretty undulating countryside to Schwarzenau with a photo stop at Groß Globnitz. Schwarzenau is the junction station for the former Emperor Franz Joseph Railway connecting Vienna to Prague and Eger via Gmünd, it is also home to a small museum, exhibiting a range of signalling equipment, name boards and lamps. The next leg of our adventure sets off from Schwarzenau once our locomotive had been watered, this time heading off along the remains of another former international rail link to the Czech Republic as far as Waidhofen an der Thaya.
