Known as the ‘mail on the fly’ technique, a catcher pouch mailbag was suspended from a post called a mail hook. As the train passed, the postal clerk would catch the mailbag while simultaneously throwing the outgoing mail from the train.
Footage frame rate increased, upscaled and “colorized” by HistoryColored using AI technology.
