Okay, here’s the rundown. The coat is on screen for about 1 minute. The edit is shorter because I realized I could do a neat trick with the huge letterboxed aspect ratio to get more fur per pixel, and I cut a few seconds here and there. I added some slow(er) mo to pump up the runtime again.
So, what do you think? Dyed chinchilla with a tanunki collar fringe? Can’t entirely dismiss the possibility that it’s fake. The somewhat “theatrical” lighting doesn’t exactly give a crystal-clear view of the coat, even in 4K.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, the scene takes place in one of those “ice bars,” which is why she at least walks in with the coat.
Unfortunately, as is often the case with another genre I won’t name, the coat comes off just as the action kicks in…
