Important note before you go to Portofino 👇

We visited Portofino by car, but keep in mind that about 20 minutes before reaching the main town, the road is usually closed by the police, especially on busy days.
From that point, you’ll be asked to continue your trip using the official Portofino shuttle buses.

This is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
Portofino has very limited parking, and during peak times the parking lots are often full.

The best option is to park your car at the coastal parking areas nearby and take the shuttle bus.
The buses run every 15 minutes, they’re clean, comfortable, and very easy to use.
The ticket price is around 5–7 euros, depending on the season.
