Starting out with the Buddy Rich Big Band, he quickly rose as a leading alto saxophonist, forming the Alto Madness Orchestra and performing across the globe. Cole’s music bridged generations, combining dazzling technique with wit, passion, and soul. Until his death in 2020, he remained a mentor and performer dedicated to keeping the jazz spirit bold and alive.
