Описание:
Cape Sundew capturing a root maggot fly
Root maggot flies are small agricultural pests whose larvae feed on the roots and underground stems of crops such as cabbage, onions, and radishes. Adult flies lay eggs in soil near host plants, and upon hatching, the legless larvae burrow into root tissues, disrupting nutrient and water uptake. This feeding damage can cause stunting, wilting, and increased vulnerability to disease.
