We are sharing this photo clip in a humble attempt to describe our trip that took place in January 2023. This time, we decided to change our destination from exploring the depths of the Empty Quarter desert to visiting the unique geographical features and rare archaeological sites that are located between the City Al-Haiet and Hail City. We also opt to document our journey in order to reveal the beauty of the Saudi Arabian landscape and nature and to exhibit the authenticity of the human civilization and culture of the Arabian Peninsula for the period that extended after the Neolithic Ages (16,000 BC), during the transition of humans towards the establishment of civilization that reached its zenith around Mesopotamia ( Great Iraq, the land of the Arabs, and the cradle of civilizations). Undoubtedly, the human being and the people of the Arabian Peninsula, which extends (from the shores of the Arabian Sea to the borders of the Anatolian mountains), had the forefront in the emergence of drawing, writing, blogging, imitation of nature, and the formation of artistic paintings of the utmost beauty and accuracy. This humble photo clip will be a witness to the embodiment of creative thought and distinctive creativity, which was engraved, drawn and written on stone, rock and mud at least 6000 years ago and has remained immortal to this day. It is worth noting that some sites, such as Wadi RATTA and Al-Manjur; have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Wadi RATTAI, contains historical monuments such as drawings, writings, and written stories from different historical eras. Yes, it is a distinctive cultural heritage for the human being of the Arabian Peninsula, where its sandy hills were dressed with an artistic suit in its entirety, from drawings of human and animal shapes, some of which were skillfully carved even in three dimensions, and their design was very magnificence and perfection. Most of the drawings were carved in life size to simulate the life of the “Thamudians” from the living, social, intellectual and ideological aspects as well, which were represented in the lines of supplications and devotion. Then we went to the area of calm, tranquility, psychological comfort, and deep contemplation of this unique natural landmark, which is Al-Mahjjah Mountain. It is a distinctive sandy sedimentary rock formation formed by erosion and weathering factors. It contains ancient inscriptions and drawings of animals such as camels and horses. The French orientalist Hooper visited it in 1884 AD and carved his name. Finally, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a rich cultural heritage: of its more than four thousand registered archaeological sites, one thousand five hundred include rock art, and many more are no doubt still waiting to be discovered. The settlement of the peninsula began in the Acheulean era (one million years ago), but the earliest examples of rock art date from the early Neolithic, around 16,000 BP, and this form of expression endured until the advent of the Islamic period, c. 650 AD.
Finally, it seems that I took a long time writing in an attempt to convey and deliver the message to the readers and audience. The desired goal of the clip is to spread the culture of domestic tourism locally and internationally, and to reveal the authenticity of the cultural, intellectual, historical and leadership heritage in that era of the extended people of the Arabian Peninsula. We are also keen to spread awareness to the importance of preserving this historical legacy and not obliterating or distorting it or dropping its meanings on our current intellectual and ideological reality, because this is a distinguished past and civilization played its role and wrote down its message and it has passed and ended, and we should just learn from it. There is no doubt that the human civilization sun shone and emanated from the Arabian Peninsula, the land of messages, civilizations, thought and monotheism. As it had an essential role that was played in ancient times; Certainly, there is no doubt that it will have a leading role in the future! And this is good news for the people of the Arabian peninsula, as they will once again have the chance to complete the process of civilizational development and the evolution of human intellectual thinking. This is not an aspiration or whim, but an analytical reading of the current and future data that is difficult to explain.... Therefore..... we need to roll up our sleeves and muster our resolve, sharpen our determination and thought, work, produce, innovate, and lead as our ancestors were in order to complete the march...
