The Dinky Toy Seaplane was produced from 1939 to 1941 as the "Mercury" - the upper part or stage of the Mayo Composite seaplane. An attempt to cross the Atlantic commercially non stop. The war stopped all that and post war there were more airfields for land based planes and just better planes. The toy was reissued from 1949 to 1957 as Mecanno catalogue number 700. Prewar the call letters were G-ADHJ and post war a fictitious G-AVKW.
