Just exploring my newly aquired instruments, all of which need setup. The Uke sounds off, but I'm not strumming it right. The Novation Mini Nova needs exploring allied to their website. Above all, I'd have loved to have got my Stentor 2 bargain today. The Tambourine used in a different way sounds fine, but it is clearly a budget sound used without care or technique. The reason I have so many instruments but little to no experience is I'm sampling using Audacity and then editing music, so multiple takes of one idea recorded and layered work fine for a beginner at the most basic level on a long journey into musicianship. It's a hobby, but I am a full time professional DJ too, so key in particular I notice. The violin bow was 61cm instead of a standard adult bow at 72-76cm and this above all made things sound bad, as my wrist position was way too stiff to articulate with finesse or bow straight across the strings..
