The lecture will include Detlef Gromoll's contributions to the Differentable Sphere Theorem, the Diameter Rigidity Theorem, metric fibrations, the structure theory for complete manifolds of nonnegative sectional curvature, results for nonnegative Ricci curvature, and closed geodesics.
