Part 1 of my Diriyah adventure started the moment I waved down a taxi in Riyadh. Behind the wheel was a kind Pakistani driver, whose warm smile and easy conversation calmed my nerves. We talked about home, about work, about dreams. He dropped me off with words that stayed with me: "Enjoy, brother. This place is special."

He was right.

I arrived at At-Turaif, Diriyah—the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the birthplace of the First Saudi State, the heart of a nation's story. And before I could even take it all in, I was greeted by a warm Saudi national, whose genuine welcome made me feel like I belonged. No formality. Just heart.

Then I stepped inside. The former Saudi palace opened before me—mud-brick walls that have stood for over 300 years, corridors that once held kings, and a quiet so deep it felt sacred.

This was only my first day, but Diriyah had already begun teaching me.
