Esa Pole did not allow a single sack in his last 498 pass blocking snaps.
The Washington State left tackle credits his years not on the field, but rather the court.
Although Esa’s older brother Toni played defensive tackle for the Cougars and spent some time with the Bengals, he focused on basketball at Mt. Eden High School in the Bay Area.

Pole was named to Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List before his senior season and then posted the second-best pass block grade by a tackle in the country.
At 6’7”, 320 pounds, and with 22 BCS starts, NFL scouts took notice and Esa was invited to the East West Shrine Bowl.
Pole also had an impressive pro day, even if it was bittersweet to work out with his Cougars teammates one last time.
