Описание: This episode begins at Kunene River Lodge, where we pause on the banks of the Kunene River after the relentless pace of Angola. Following recent floods, much of the riverfront was damaged, yet we were welcomed with warm hospitality — a quiet sanctuary before heading back into the wild.

Rested and resupplied in spirit, we turn south.

As we travel deeper into north-western Namibia, we reflect on the legacy of the Dorsland Trekkers, who crossed these harsh landscapes facing deserts, malaria, and impossible terrain. Their journey was one of survival. Ours is one of exploration — and that contrast is never far from mind.

Before entering the remoteness of Kaokoland, we stop to resupply in Opuwo, the last true outpost before distances stretch and services disappear.

Along the C43, we discover the original prospector’s camp at an old, disused dioptase mine, now transformed into a unique desert campsite. What was once driven by ambition and mineral wealth now offers stillness, solitude, and a perfect Namibian sunset.

This is overlanding in its pure form — history, horizon, and the long road south.
