Many were confused by this video because they don't know me well enough and it's a mix of fact and fiction. I mean, I outed myself at the end, but I guess many skipped it.

The fact: The apparatus I developed was serious, and the strikes were real. And yes, it's easy for an average Joe not to hit themselves.
The fiction: The nunchaku was twice the mass of the stick, and considerably longer. This is obviously a more important factor than the minor detail of how it was connected. And of course the history was bogus.

After Shad's second video bashing on the Nunchaku, I found it would be impossible to adequately respond in a single video. In this video, I address his primary concern that somehow the nunchaku is vastly inferior to a solid stick in power generation and delivery with an experiment much better designed to compare the power of comparable weapons.

P.S. For the record, I am in no way offended at Shad's rant. He's a great guy with wonderful content. I think he's just trying to invite debate by voicing his opinion in such an absolute way. So much of what is 'known' about the nunchaku in martial art's circles today has been pure fabrication of the media. In this sense, the nunchaku is simultaneously the most overrated weapon and the least appreciated. This type of dialogue and practical tests is exactly what we need to move forward!
