Yorkshire Marathon: the race that wasn’t to be // take a dose of Vitamin N!

Описание: The Yorkshire Marathon, a race that I hold quite well and truly close to my head and heart. It means a lot to me, one I have frequented every year since its inception in 2013. Since my first initial footsteps in this world of running. 2024 however it wasn’t to be, I’ve run well here but this year I won’t be toeing the line. The plan from the outset was to use Yorkshire Marathon as a stepping stone towards a bigger project later in the winter, the Valencia Marathon. Today was meant to be a long run, in the jigsaw before getting onto the course at Valencia, there wasn’t meant to be a taper going into this. It was meant to be just another day at the office.

But an enforced taper, a down week, a niggle creeping up on me, in my achilles put a stop to that. A painful mile, a few down days, something I’m far from used to. Missing the event sometimes hurts more than the pain but, I’m learning to be disciplined and brave. Better knuckle down and Just Keep Running.
