He coaxed the Taj Gibson switch, backed up 8 feet, and haphazardly dribbled into a 27 footer only to blast it directly to the bottom right of the window. Aptly described by the commentator as a “skud” - which before now was not in my lexicon but will inevitably be filed away for future synopses.

Kilpatrick’s Clippers stint was a dalliance rather than a marriage - two 10-day contracts (4 total games) and he was out the door and onto the next. Admittedly he did score 15 points in 20 minutes in this game, but the margin by which he missed the rim on this shot and the fact the broadcast showed Minnesota was on a 13-0 run made it an impossible moment to omit.
