To get a 3 Star Rank in Mario Kart 7, there are certain requirements that you have to meet. Some of those include, placing 1st in every race, try to complete cups in a good time possible, and don't try to mess up a lot.
Always try to front run as far away from the AI opponents as possible to avoid shenanigans, collect 10 coins to maximize your speed, and use defensive items such as Shells and Bananas to help defend yourself from the AI's items.
