Yes, that is a real skull, and I constructed this miniature village out of balsa wood and hot glue. Check out the full video linked in the video title!
*The skull was found naturally, and I cleaned it using hydrogen peroxide and soap. *
I really enjoyed making this diorama. I've had two skulls and a couple bones just lying around, and I knew there was something cool I could make with them. I plan on using them for another project at some point, so let me know if your interested in more bone-towns!

Notes: A dream that took place near a vine. Previously unknown knowledge was ascertained in this dream, though only now documented as it was presumed to be, “just a dream”.
Excerpted Note Journal entry “ I just had the strangest dream. I haven’t dreamt this vividly ever, at least that I can remember.
I was placed in the tall grass atop a hill, when I was drawn by the sound of distant chatter and the faintest lights off in the distance. I rushed to the sound I presumed was human speech, filled with adrenaline at the sound of another human being. I crested the hill and was met with a truly strange sight. It was a small village, encircling the skull of some colossal monster, and there were people. I ran to them, attempted to speak, interact, learn, but I was nothing more than a specter to their eyes.
I explored their small town and found the roofs were insulated with moss, like thatch roofing, regrown. The entire settlement consisted of wooden slabs attached using a sort of leafy adhesive to construct homes, towers, and a crane. The wooden crane hoisted what appeared to be a large vertebra, presumably of the creature whose skull was now inhabited. Glowing vines twisted and curled along every crack and crevice, curiously examining the wooden constructions of the town, even mimicking the construction's actions.
A particular growth interested me. A firehearth, I later discovered, was their floral replacement for the campfire. It gave off heat, though I could not feel it. Instead, I was told this, from the man across the firehearth. His face was clouded by a mossed skull he wore; he spoke to my curiosity. His exact quotes are lost to me; in fact, I do not remember him speaking, but I do remember receiving his knowledge of the firehearth. He walked around the firehearth circle and its hearty inhabitants who spoke in a language I did not know. The man, still looking down, produced a single seed from his palm and raised it to me. I hesitantly received the seed, before waking to my hand furiously clenched, with my knuckles white. There was no seed inside my palm, but I later found another seed a foot or so up the mound I was resting on.”
