"Jumping" from a lolk n1cc, this has got to be one of the worst experiences I've had to endure since ever LOL.
Originally the idea was to beat the game in hard, but turns out most of the stuff I was doing in hard was replicable on lunatic as well, so I decided to take the leap since the mistakes I was committing were for the most part easily preventable either way.
It took a while to build up the necessary skillset but all I needed to do was to learn proper resource management, the rest of it just came in naturally.
About the game (updated desc I just realized it was lacking of context):
I don't think I'll delve into this one for too long, however I have to mention that the game punishes you SO HARSHLY the moment you miss once (1p loss, trance loss and spellcard loss if bombs are still available), especially considering I HAD to gatekeep that same trance to use it on fairies that dropped life/bomb fragments on specific segments in each stages, since the mode itself is going to double those same items when turned on, which ALSO means that missing once was an indirect loss of even more resources depending on where you died (you see it just keeps getting better and better).
1 miss in the early game was a guaranteed restart, 2m was tolerable only during midgame, 3 or more only in the endgame AND when I used up all of my bombs otherwise haha no.
For me personally, the early game felt like a snoozefest (stage 1 and 2), and dying there was SO infuriating because of the aforementioned reasons, the mid game was tough 𝓷𝓰𝓵 (stage 3 boss and stage 4 mainly) because some of these spellcards/non are a fat chokepoint and potential run killers, the end game however (stage 5/6) is oddly easier to deal with than the rest besides the miko fight, it all comes down to how well you manage your nerves (and resources, obviously).
I won't go into details about the run itself since it's kinda sloppy but who cares it's my first l1cc!!
Well tbf besides the obvious brainfarts on stage 3 the rest of the run wasn't so bad all the way up to stage 6, where the nerves started to kick in and I started to get more shaky during the boss fight.
Weeeellllll despite all of the negatives I mentioned the game itself ISN'T horrible, some of these patterns are FUN to dodge (shocking right), but my own experience with it was.
It brought my mental to an all time low to the point where I considered dropping it on multiple occasions, like dying in the early/mid game over and over again due to ridiculous misses was so disheartening to experience.
I inevitably started ranting and raging over it because of that, until I stopped caring and started to dial in, and actually played the game as intended until I popped off and eventually finished what I started 3 months ago.
I KID YOU NOT when I say this clear took me EXACTLY 67 hours.
Shoutout to my day ones mika, raze and dejwid and a SPECIAL thank you to crow, kaina, rocco, mistery, pier, sasso, gygy and antimatter (I hope I'm not forgetting anybody else lol) I don't think I would have ever been able to tackle this challenge down without the MUCH needed support.
This detrimental adventure has finally come to an end.
