It can also absorb a small part of the UVA band and is a water-soluble chemical sunscreen agent.

2-Phenylbenzimidazole-5-Sulfonic Acid is often used in conjunction with other ingredients such as Avobenzone, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, or Bemotrizinol. Under sunlight, its protective ability and protective quality will not gradually decrease over time, so it can alleviate the decomposition of other UVB blocking agents in sunscreen to a certain extent.
