My New Favorite Vacation in Cambodia

Описание: We are in Koh Kong province, Cambodia - in the Botum Sakor National Park. Having lived in Cambodia for over 4 years, I've seen a lot of the country, but I've never been to a place like this!
After a 1 hour boat ride down a picturesque and very quiet river, we arrived at the Cardamom Tented Camp. This will be our home for the next 2 nights and 3 days. It's a very unique place. First of all, the resort/camp is in the middle of nowhere. The area is protected, so there are no roads, no one living close by, no noise at all. The only other traffic we saw on the river was the park wardens.
Trust me, peacefulness on this level is very hard to come by in Cambodia.
The camp is also entirely the reason that the area is protected. Without it, the land would have been sold off and even more animals would have lost their homes. It's a not-for-profit organization. All the money that the park makes goes into protecting the area.
We spent the 3 days kayaking, hiking, searching for wildlife, swimming, zip-lining, and just soaking in the peacefulness.
I highly recommend a stay at Cardamom Tented Camp. Check it out if you are looking for the most peaceful place in Cambodia.
