This 2008 RZR was brought to me with a shifter that didn't feel right. It was grinding and hard to pull. I fixed it last year by the same method shown in this video but this year it sprung a leak and a bearing went out. Therefore I had to pull the trans again.
When putting it together I put an o ring in the wrong place. That's why it didn't shift into low or high. So this time pulling it apart I filmed it and wanted to show how to fix the shifting issue that is so common among these models of SXS.
If you pull the trans and the parts shown, just weld the plate onto the shaft so that it will no longer leave a place for the ball bearing to fall out. That way it is stronger and reliable, better than new.
