This summer, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a summer camp teacher in a rural village in Anhui, China. Over two weeks, I taught 4th and 5th graders about various areas of art, including sign language, dance, clay, and drawing. Along with four other volunteers, who are all Chinese college students, we taught classes regarding communications, team work, leadership, fitness, and ethics. Our goal was to introduce the students to subjects they wouldn't normally see in school and to spark interest. In the process, we learned a lot ourselves and got to know each of the students personally. And we had a ton of fun!
