America's Windy City has gone "Di-crazy" - the Princess of Wales was greeted by scenes of near hysteria as she arrived in Chicago. People scrambled for a chance to shake the Princess's hand as she kicked off her three-day visit with a tour of Northwestern University. The university is home to the Robert H Lurie Cancer Centre - during her trip the Princess will help raise funds for breast cancer research.

Diana-mania continues in Chicago as the Princess of Wales began her second day of official engagements in the city she's never visited before. First stop for the Princess was a conference on breast cancer at Chicago's Northwestern University. She told the audience of doctors and scientists not to be complacent in the search for cure. Fans lined the streets outside the Elegant Drake Hotel in the city where Diana is staying during her trip.
