Mesa Arch is located in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park, about 38 miles outside of Moab, Utah. The trail is an easy 0.6 mile loop with roughly 80 feet of elevation gain. About halfway along the trail, you will reach Mesa Arch itself. The arch sits right on the edge of a cliff and overlooks a vast canyon landscape with the La Sal Mountains in the distance.

Mesa Arch is one of the most photographed locations in Canyonlands. Because the arch faces east, the rising sun shines directly through the opening and creates stunning lighting conditions that are especially popular with sunrise photographers.
