The ride starts from Ballabio in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, on the road SP62 "della Valsassina" and turning just after few kilometres on the road Sp 63 "di Morterone".
The SP63 is a narrow mountain road on the Bergamasque Prealps which drives to Morterone village. With a current population of 32 people it is the smallest of any comune (municipality) in Italy in terms of inhabitants.
On the route of the road there are several points with stunning view on the city of Lecco and the surrounding lakes.
