Step inside a historic 18th-century Colonial farmhouse and barn in Weathersfield, Vermont, once home to prosperous farmer Henry Gould for nearly half a century. Today, it belongs to muralist Lisa Curry Mair, whose artwork captures the spirit of New England towns and the homes that anchor them. After moving in, Lisa made and unexpected discovery about the land where the home sits, as well as a "gift" left behind by a past resident..
In this feature-length tour (57 minutes), you’ll discover:
• The Gould farmhouse, expanded from a modest Cape into a Colonial home
• Henry Gould, the farmer who shaped this land for generations.
• Lisa’s historic barn and the animals she cares for, echoing the rhythms of the farm’s past.
• The nearby Salmond Covered Bridge, protected and cared for by Lisa and her community.
• Her studio and creative spaces, where she prepares, paints, and shares her mural work.
• A sit-down chat where Lisa opens up about her artistic process, ties to her ancestor Rufus Porter, and her dedication to Dorset Equine Rescue.
This video includes chapters so you can pause, return later, or jump to the parts that interest you most.
This is more than a house tour, it is a woven portrait of history, art, ancestry, and stewardship within one Vermont farmhouse and barn.
